Here is a recording of the Librato CloudSlam Presentation featuring Joe Ruscio, our CTO, talking about "Managing Website Performance and Availability".
A short excerpt:
.... Cloud Infrastructure Management tools are used for provisioning and monitoring cloud infrastructure and are application independent, whereas Application Performance Management tools usually aim to show and analyze application behavior for specific languages like Ruby or JAVA. While both classes of tools are very useful and necessary, what has been missing are tools that provide insight in, and control of the use of provisioned resources at the level of individual applications or processes.
This presentation introduces Application Workload Management, a class of tools that has more recently become available for use in cloud environments, and shows how these tools enable monitoring and control of the consumption of server resources at the application and process level.
Enjoy!
